Young Living: Nut-Derived Ingredient Concerns

A list of Young Living products that contain nut-derived ingredients.

Young Living Products: Nut Ingredients

***2018 UPDATE***

Dear YL Members,

We can no longer keep this list current. Per YL Product Support, they are no longer releasing allergen lists. They said, in an email to us, that because they source from various vendors, the cross-contamination may vary from vendor to vendor, batch to batch. Therefore, they feel it would be impossible to provide one set list. You are welcome to use this as a guide BUT we encourage you to question EVERYTHING. YL Product Support will answer specific questions about ONE product and/or ONE ingredient. Please feel free to contact them at:

The Oil Posse Team does not agree with this decision. Allergies are a serious matter and we, as consumers of their products, should be able to feel safe using a product… the idea that allergens could be possible and different depending on the vendor is alarming to those that suffer from allergens and/or Celiac. We understand it was a necessary move to ensure more products remain in stock but brings major concerns to many with these issues. Please reach out to YL Product Support and check your product from time to time. Be careful and safe. It is our hope they will be able to secure one or two vendors that can ensure the ingredient is free of allergens… until that time we have no choice but to question everything.

The Oil Posse Team

*** END 2018 UPDATE ***

The majority of Young Living essential oils are nut free.  Young Living products that do contain nuts or nut-derived ingredients, are listed below.  This list is courtesy of Young Living as of January 2016.

***NOTE: Young Living is NO LONGER providing a full product list for allergens. They will respond to questions about a singular product and/or ingredient. This means we would have to spend hours on each product, asking questions and really digging into the ingredients. We will do this IF WE HAVE TIME and will update IF we are able to do so. I would encourage everyone to reach out to YL Product Support and demand an allergen list. We are honestly very disheartened by this decision and we feel it IS their job to provide this. Information about Coconut

Coconut is a member of the palm family and only distantly related to the tree nut. It is believed that coconut does not appear to affect most people who suffer from a nut allergy. There are some Young Living products that are diluted with fractionated coconut oil, such as Valor essential oil blend. If you have an allergy to coconuts or coconut oil, please ask your Young Living representative to obtain a list of ingredients for any product you may be interested in or have a concern. If you are a Young Living member, most products have a full list of ingredients available in our virtual office. For any that may not, please write Young Living’s Product Support department via email: to request an ingredient list.

We make no claims that this is an all-inclusive list. Please always check the product label for a full list of ingredients. If you are still unsure, please contact Young Living. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own safety and use of products.

The little “nut” graphic is from — great website if you have littles that suffer from allergies.

    1. YL’s Product Support Department is no longer providing full lists of allergen products.

The post was created in 2016 but that does not mean that was the last time it was updated. The post is updated, up to, the release of the latest convention products. We have not had time to carefully screen each of those products and YL is no longer doing this, either. We hope to screen each of them very soon. If you question ANY product, reach out to YL Product Support. They will give information about a singular product and/or ingredient.

      1. THANK YOU for posting this – is there a way the date this was updated could be added so we are clear on how new or old the information is??

        1. Young Living Product Support is no longer providing allergen lists. You will need to check the new products one by one with them. Be sure to note they will only respond to a specific ingredient and not a product so if you check the products ingredients and question any of them, reach out to Product Support via email and ask about that particular ingredient, then they can help you.

  1. Do you know if there is an up to date Vegan Products list. I have an old one but there have been so many new products added in the past couple years. I have reached out to Product Support but they have not replied as of yet. Thanks in advance

    1. Hi Faith,

Thank you for writing. Young Living is no longer releasing lists. We were informed, by them, that they source from various suppliers so the allergen risk can fluctuate from batch to batch depending on which suppliers ingredient was used. However, YL Product Support will respond to any specific questions about one product and/or one ingredient, at a time.
